Digestion of food by the grazing sheep. I. The rate of flow in digesta

Abstract

Studies have been made of the rates of flow of digesta from the reticulum and the abomasum in sheep. It has been established that the rates of flow may be estimated by reference to the "marker", radioactive chromium ( 51Cr) complexed with ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid. The use of lignin to measure the flow of digesta in grazing sheep has also been investigated.
