Abstract
vic-Iodo-isocyanates are conveniently prepared by treatment of alkenes with iodine/thallium(1) cyanate or with iodine(I) chloride/thallium(I) cyanate. Treatment of the phenylurea (5) with silver perchlorate or m-chloroperbenzoic acid gives the oxazoline (29).
