A synthesis of 6- and 4-hydroxymethyl derivatives of pyridin-3-ols

Abstract

Studies are reported of dimethylaminomethylation of pyridin-3-ols-in which a bromo substituent is used as a temporary block to control orientation-and subsequent conversion into hydroxymethyl analogues.
