Conformations of some highly substituted ethanes in solution

Abstract

The dehydrogeno-dimers of 2,6-dichlorotoluene, benzyltrimethylsilane, p-chlorobenzyltrimethylsilane, anthrone, xanthen, phthalide and α-tetralone have been prepared by free-radical dimerization, and their conformations examined with the aid of electric dipole moment and infrared measurements.
