Abstract

Stem calluses of Eremophila fraseri were established on defined media. Resin components secreted by leaf glandular hairs could not be detected in callus extracts. Both calluses and isolated leaves metabolized [2-14C]mevalonic acid but only the leaves incorporated label into resin components. Rates of incorporation in leaf resins were low (1-3 %). These rates varied according to the com- position of the leaf resins.
