Abstract
Recent studies concerning the Oligo–Miocene stratigraphy (35 to 5 million years ago) need the revision of the calibration of the European charophyte biozonation by Riveline et al. in 1996. Moreover, another charophyte biozonation elaborated in Spain by Feist et al. in 1994 also modifies this standard model. Presented here is a discussion and a possible solution to redefine the Standard European Charophyte biozonation during the Oligocene and Miocene.https://doi.org/10.1071/BT97102
