Abstract

Danthonia archboldii, a high altitude New Guinea endemic, is gynodioecious. In natural populations hermaphrodites and females occur in approximately equal proportions. In floral morphology D. archboldii is similar to New Zealand species of Cortaderia and South American C. pilosa.
