Abstract
An account is given of the family Kallymeniaceae (Rhodophyta) on southern and eastern Australian coasts. The family is strongly represented in this area and comprises Kallymenia (seven species, including K. cribrogloea, K. rosea, K. rubra, and K. spinosa newly described), Glaphyrymenia, Cirrulicarpus (c. australis sp. nov.), Hormophora, Polycoelia, Thamnophyllis. (T. lacerata sp. nov.), Austrophyllis gen. nov., and Callophyllis. The genus Austrophyllis is similar in habit and structure to Callophyllis but differs in having distinct auxiliary cell systems.https://doi.org/10.1071/BT7102001
