Abstract

The affinity of ,a-glucosidase for t-buty1 alcohol is similar to that for methanol but the rate of decomposition of the enzyme-two-substrate complex is much decreased for t-butyl alcohol. Pinacol is very similar to t-butyl alcohol in its behaviour as an acceptor.
