Abstract
The monoterpenes geraniol, nerol, citronellol, linalool, α-terpineol, menthol, menthone and pulegone reduced the incidence of superficial scald in Granny Smith apples when added to the fruit as an injection. Naphthaleneacetic acid markedly increased scald, while abscisic acid, SKF525 (a proprietary inhibitor) and glutathione also increased the disorder.https://doi.org/10.1071/AR9770445
