The determination and properties of the fibrous covering of the wheat grain

Abstract

The neutral detergent method of fibre determination effects a clean separation of the outer layers of the wheat grain from the endosperm. The fibre thus separated gives a good indication of the milling yield of soft wheats, but is useful only in conjunction with other tests in similar comparisons of hard wheats.
