Wool fibre shedding in some Merino sheep

Abstract

Four sheep were investigated by monthly skin sampling for 3 years in Australia, and four sheep by quarterly sampling for 3 years in Scotland. Those in Australia had shedding in 30–50% of the samples while those in Scotland had shedding in only 15–30%, but in both the incidence of brush ends was less than 1%.
