Abstract

Evidence is presented that a strain of grapevine yellow mosaic virus is present in South Australia, but its incidence is very low and a nematode vector has not been found in affected vineyards. The "dying arm" disorder of vines is not due to infection by fanleaf virus as previously suspected, and typical fanleaf virus has not been found in the State. A new grapevine disorder affecting the variety Clare Riesling is also described.
