Abstract

Solodic soils in the Beaudesert region of Queensland have been found to be low in fertility. Significant responses in the growth of Siratro (Phaseolus atropurpureus D.C.) were obtained with phosphorus and molybdenum. White clover (Trifolium repens L.) responded to phosphorus, molybdenum, calcium carbonate, and sulphur, but the application of small amounts of molybdenum eliminated the need for calcium carbonate. Interactions between molybdenum and sulphur, and also sulphur and calcium carbonate were recorded.
