Abstract

The hearing of the Grey-headed Flying-fox, Pteropus poliocephalus, has been examined by neurophysiological recording from single neurons in the midbrain inferior colliculus. The neurophysiological audiogram so obtained covers the frequency range from 2 kHz to 50 kHz, with maximal sensitivity (18 dB SPL) at 15 kHz.
