Abstract
INTRODUCED mammals of the world: their history distribution and influence is an extraordinarily detailed compendium of events where mammals have been released, intentionally or not, into places where they were thought to be absent. So the title is slightly misleading in that the reader might only expect to find details of exotic animals rather than translocations back into former habitat. Translocated mammals of the world may have been a more apt title. However, the title follows that of John Long’s previous book Introduced birds of the world (1981).https://doi.org/10.1071/AM05109_BR
