Abstract
The transient response due to a horizontal conducting cylindrical shell?shell model, induced by a uniform, vertical magnetic field was obtained analytically. It is observed that the behaviour of the transient response is qualitatively similar to that of the spherical shell?shell model. Based on the criterion of closeness between the total and target responses within the preferred limits of accuracy, a nomogram was constructed for the selection of optimum measuring time rangesfor a chosen set of model parameters.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG981029
