Abstract

The gravity effect of an infinite horizontal inverted isosceles triangular prism has been derived. The Fourier Transform of its gravity effect has been obtained and the Fourier spectrum has been analysed to yield the following parameters: depth to the top of the body, depth to the bottom, width of the body, inclination of the sides and the density contrast between the body and the surrounding rocks. The method has been tested on synthetic models and the validity of the procedure has been thus established.
