Abstract

A description is given of Entobdella australis, sp. nov., a monogenean parasite from the skin of the stingrays Taeniura lymma and Amphotistius kuhlii, caught respectively at Heron Island and in Moreton Bay, Qld. Particular attention has been paid to the reproductive system, which is compared with those of other representatives of the genus.
