Abstract
The effects of gonadotropic and steroid hormones on ovulation in vivo and in vitro are reported. Goldfish pituitary homogenate (GPH) and HCG induced ovulation in vivo, but of the hormones tested only GPH did so in vitro. PMS and the steroids oestrone, progesterone and methyl testosterone were tested over a wide range of doses but had no effect on ovulation in vivo or in vitro.https://doi.org/10.1071/ZO9750043
