A review of Australian Acroceridae (Diptera)

Abstract

Four genera and 26 species of Australian Acroceridae are recognized. The genus Nothra Westw. is synonymized with Pterodontia Gray. One new species of Pterodontia and 10 new species of Oncodes Latr. are described. It is indicated from structural studies that Hardy (1940) erroneously regarded all Australian species of Oncodes as only colour varieties of 0. basalis (Walk.).
