The Tipulidae (Diptera) of Australia. IX. The genus Leptotarsus Guerin; the subgenus Habromastix Skuse*

Abstract

Dobrotworsky (1968) synonymised the genus Habromastix with Leptotarsus and gave it the status of a subgenus. Ten species are redescribed; reference is made to two forms of undetermined status L. platyxantha (Alexander) and L. robinsoni (Alexander) are synonymized with L. terraereginae (Alexander), and L. hilli sublateralis (Alexander) with L. hilli (Alexander).Two new species, L. (H.) cunninghamensis and L. (H.) bulburinensis, are described. A key for the species is provided.
