Abstract

Collections of decaying palm fronds in tropical rainforests in northern Queensland, Australia, yielded two new genera, Mckenziea and Waihonghopes, and six new fungal species, Kionochaeta filamentosa, Mackenziea livistonae, Monotosporella palmicola, M. clavata, M. sphaerica and Waihonghopes australiensis. The new taxa are described and illustrated and compared with similar taxa.
