Abstract

The number of species recognized for Tasmania is raised from two to four, and three of the species are subdivided into varieties. Variation in P. juniperina in the state is discussed, and four varieties (var. juniperina, var. ulicina Meissner, var. brevifolia Meissner and var. mollis Orch.) are keyed and described. Only the last of these is new. Two new species [P. muelleri (P. Parm.) Orch. and P. moscalii Orch.] are segregated from P. gunnii. P. muelleri is divided into three varieties: var. muelleri, var. densifolia Orch. and var. angustifolia (Benth.) Orch., while P. gunnii is divided into two varieties: var. gunnii and var. oblanceolata Orch. All of these varieties are new taxa or new combinations.
