Psychosocial stress negatively affects the female reproductive system. Our study elucidates the mechanisms of these effects and addresses the possibility of alleviating the effects of stress on the ovary through reproductive technology as gonadotropin stimulation. The results of our study highlight intraovarian insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) as a target for therapeutic intervention, providing a novel approach to improve fertility, particularly under the conditions associated with chronic psychosocial stress.
