School-based Models of Primary Health Care
The School-based Models of Primary Health Care special issue of the Australian Journal of Primary Health provides a selection of papers that describe innovations in the integration of primary health care and education. The papers include examples of best practice and innovation in the form of novel interventions and practice models, as well as explorations of the role of the primary healthcare workforce in the education sector. This is important because school-based primary health care is a potential solution to provide timely access to services and improve health and academic outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged populations and those with complex health problems.
