Abstract
The mobility of Li + ions in helium (294 K) has been measured at E/ N values between 40 and 90 Td using the Tyndall-Powell four-gauze method. The drift distances used varied from 35 to 208 mm. Errors due to 'end effects' were taken into account by extrapolation of the mobility data to large distances. The corrected mobility values are estimated to have an uncertainty of less than 1 %. The present values are compared with previous data and shown to agree to within the experimental error with values calculated from the ab initio interaction potential of Senff and Burton (1986).https://doi.org/10.1071/PH870355
