Abstract
We give an elementary review of how simple spin fluctuation models can account for the distinctive transport properties of nearly magnetic alloys and metals. The principal systems considered are dilute alloys such as PdNi in which host and impurity have somewhat similar electronic structure but with the impurity more nearly magnetic than the host. Similar effects occurring in pure metals or concentrated alloys are also mentioned.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH830537
