Thick Target Gamma Yields from Fluorine

Abstract

Yields have been measured of prompt y rays emitted when protons bombard a thick target containing fluorine for energies between 1?75 and 2?75 MeV. The results help to remove discrepancies in previous data. The yields are very high and the high energy y rays are easily identified. Absolute intensities have been obtained to an accuracy of ± 10%. The results help to establish a data base for the quantitative analysis of fluorine.
