Abstract
The transition amplitudes for direct reaction inelastic proton scattering from nuclei are formulated using target spectroscopy given by angular momentum projection from axially symmetric minimal energy Hartree-Fock intrinsic states of N = Z nuclei. Applications to the scatterings from 20Neare made, from which the importance of virtual excitations of giant resonances is evident.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH760233
