Abstract
Theories for deep convection in the interior of major planets are reviewed. The focus is on Busse"s theory, whose problems are critically analysed. The importance of the analogy and differences with the Earth"s mantle convection and oceanographic convection are emphasised.https://doi.org/10.1071/P97079
