Abstract
Varicella zoster is a herpes virus that causes chickenpox (also known as varicella) and shingles (herpes zoster). This Bug Breakfast discussed the background to the addition of the varicella vaccine to the National Immunisation Program on 1 November 2005, and outlined the process of introducing a new vaccine to the schedule in NSW.https://doi.org/10.1071/NB05058
