Abstract
Australia has the highest incidence of skin cancer in the world. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in Australia, with incidence rates outnumbering all other forms of cancer by more than three to one. The Australian health system spends more money on the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer than on any other cancer, an estimated $420m each year. The majority of these skin cancers could be prevented if the public could be persuaded to adequately protect themselves from the sun.https://doi.org/10.1071/NB05053
