Abstract
Adult ADHD is a relatively recent concept, being first described in the literature in the 1970s. While authors have demonstrated the validity of the disorder in adults, and research into the disorder forges ahead, ADHD in adults continues to be controversial. In a study published as recently as 2000, one in eight psychiatrists surveyed in a region of the United Kingdom indicated that adult ADHD does not exist.https://doi.org/10.1071/NB04S34
