Abstract
The aims of the mental health component of the survey were to estimate levels of psychological distress among secondary school students, and for those students who reported signs of psychological distress, to assess whether the distress was pervasive (occurring both at home and at school); its severity; whether these students were talking about it with others; and, if so, whether talking about it was helpful. Some comparative information from the 1996 and 1999 Surveys is also included in this chapter.https://doi.org/10.1071/NB04S24
