Abstract
Between 1996 and 2000, about 20 per cent of mothers were born in non-English speaking countries (Table 45). The proportion of mothers from Asian countries increased slightly from 10.5 to 11.6 per cent, while the proportion of mothers from southern European countries continued to decrease slightly from 1.8 to 1.4 per cent.https://doi.org/10.1071/NB01S24
