Abstract
Haliastur is considered doubtfully separable from Milvus. Circus approximans and Circus spilonotus are considered to be species, which, along with three others, compose a superspecies of marsh harriers Circus [aeruginosus]. Occurrence of Circus melanoleucus in New Guinea is questioned. Erythrotriorchis and Megatriorchis are considered synonyms of Accipiter. Status of Aquila gurneyi and A. audax discussed.
