Abstract
An expedition to Maatsuyker Island was made in February 1971; geography, vegetation and avifauna were recorded. The native fauna is undisturbed because exotic animals have not been introduced and man has not seriously interfered with the Island's ecology. The land avifauna is probably the same as when Maatsuyker was first isolated from the mainland. Some expected species are missing, which allows speculation to be made on the history of avifauna in Tasmania's older habitats.https://doi.org/10.1071/MU972167
