Abstract
Engaeus cisternarius, sp. nov., from Tasmania is described. It had been confused with E. fossor (Erichson) but bears closer resemblance to E. hemicirratulus Smith and Schuster and E. jumbunna Riek from Victoria. Its distribution is given.
