Abstract

This paper deals with the following genera of Australian sipunculids: Phascolosoma, Dendrostomum, Golfingia, Aspidosiphon, and Cleosiphon. Nineteen species are recorded, of which Phascolosoma rottnesti from Western Australia, Phascolosoma dunwichi and Phascolosoma heronis from Queensland, and Dendrostomum cymodoceae from South Australia are new. Phascolosoma scolops var, tasmaniense has been given specific rank as P. tasmaniense. Two new subspecies, Golfingia margaritacea adelaidensis from South Australia and G. vulgaris queenslandensis from Queensland, are also described. A key to the Australian genera and species is given.
