Abstract
I would like to express my gratitude to the members of the journal's editorial board, who have given of their valuable time to review articles for this publication. The review process is now progressing smoothly, with a standardised review format utilised by all members. Both authors and readers can rest assured that a suitably high standard of peer-reviewed material will thus be published. I would further like to acknowledge my appreciation of the board by inviting each member to write a guest editorial, commencing in 1999, and will be contacting members individually in the near future. The state news pages of this issue see two new sub-editors take over the position in their respective states: Glenys Harrington replaces Ross Peck in Victoria and Janice Geary replaces Glenn Gardner in Queensland. Glenn will continue in her role as assistant editor of the journal. I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to the new sub-editors and thank all existing sub-editors for their continued support. As members of the journal committee, the primary roles of the sub-editors are to compile a state page for each issue of Australian Infection Control, as well as encourage and assist prospective authors whenever this is opportune.https://doi.org/10.1071/HI98404
