Abstract
The most important factor for obtaining an accurate depth model of the weathering is an accurate time model. The computation of a GRM time model with scalar traveltimes is readily extended to the generation of the refraction convolution section (RCS) with the convolution of pairs of forward and reverse traces. Stacking with the RCS facilitates the recognition of genuine later events, in addition to the first arrivals. Dipping events within the sub-weathering can be recognized in the stacked and deconvolved RCS, and they are enhanced with the application of statics corrections to the RCS. These events can also be recognized in common offset refraction (COR) and coincident reflection sections.https://doi.org/10.1071/ASEG2010ab040
