Abstract

The rising price of electrical power and the current high price of hydrocarbons have changed the global geothermal outlook in a major way. Several methods of geothermal system development previously deemed unprofitable may be viable at the present time, especially in the presence of higher electricity prices, increased or new portfolio standards, and tax incentives.
