Abstract

A series of magnetovariational and magnetotelluric studies are currently under way in central New Zealand. These include: (1) A magnetovariational study of the lower part of the North Island. (2) An investigation into the channelling of induced currents through Cook Strait. (3) A magnetotelluric traverse across the Wellington region. (4) A magnetotelluric investigation of a known seismic boundary in the Egmont-Ruapehu region.
