Correlation of high resolution density log counts and ash content of coal in the goulburn valley, N.S.W.

Abstract

A linear relationship of the form Ash = 0.0309 (HRD-BASE) + 98.91 was established between the ash content of coals in boreholes in the Goulburn Valley, N.S.W., and normalized high resolution density (HRD) count rates. Using this relationship ash content can be estimated with an accuracy of ±39% for the predicted value, at the 90% confidence level.
