Abstract

Linear filter theory provides a rapid means of calculating resistivity transforms and apparent resistivities, thereby facilitating resistivity sounding interpretation. The coefficient sets previously associated with the method, however, are inadequate for reflection coefficients approaching minus one. This paper presents, for the Schlumberger electrode configuration, new coefficients which significantly reduce this inadequacy, thus rendering the linear filter method an accurate and particularly rapid means of executing apparent resistivity computations.
