Jennifer L. Martin is an ARC Australian Laureate Fellow at the University of Queensland. She has previously held NHMRC Senior, ARC Professorial, and ARC Queen Elizabeth II Research Fellowships. Her research interests focus on protein structure and drug design, targeting infection, inflammation, and diabetes. She trained as a pharmacist in Victoria, was awarded a DPhil from Oxford University and spent her postdoctoral years at Rockefeller University in New York. One of nine children, she grew up in Dandenong, Victoria, the daughter of a truck-driver father and nurse mother. She now lives in Brisbane with her husband Michael and cat Kolya.
