Heron 10
The 10th Heron Island Conference will be held at the Heron Island Resort in July 2025. It will host some 60-80 participants plus accompanying persons, and we are assembling an exciting list of international and domestic speakers. In keeping with tradition, there will be scientific sessions in the mornings and evenings, leaving afternoons free for informal discussions, social, and reef activities (snorkelling, diving, reef walking, swimming, sun bathing), sports and relaxation, followed by the iconic sun-downer poster sessions. All participants have all meals together, which is known to foster further scientific and social interaction, often leading to new collaborations. Note that all meals are included in the accommodation charges,
Heron Island is a small coral cay on the reef 72 km northeast of Gladstone and 600 km north of Brisbane in subtropical, sunny Queensland. It is a place of great tranquillity and natural beauty, and the seafood is legendary. These conferences enjoy an excellent reputation for their high scientific standards, and, in addition, they are also family friendly, and many delegates bring their partners and/or children.
As the number of participants at Heron Island is strictly limited, early registration is recommended. Details of registration, accommodation, history and participants are available on the Heron10 website, https://heron-conference.org.
