Chun-Long Chen was born in 1979 in Jiangxi, China. He is now working toward his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Cheng-Yong Su. His research interests are mainly focussed on self-assembly of coordination supramolecular species and their dynamic behavior in solution. He was a visiting scholar in Hans-Conrad zur Loye’s group at University of South Carolina (Sept. 2004 to July 2005), where he was engaged in the design and synthesis of rigid ligands and their coordination chemistry. He is an author in more than thirty scientific publications and has received a number of awards for excellence.



Bei-Sheng Kang was born in 1941 in Hebei, China. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1967 majoring in organic chemistry. From 1968 to 1972, she has post-doctored or worked in the field of organic chemistry at New York University, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Karlsruhe University, and Fuzhou University, and in coordination chemistry in Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, before settling for the professorship in SunYat-Sen University. She is the regional editor for Asia and Australasia of Inorganic Chemistry Communications. Her major research interests are in physical inorganic chemistry of transition metal clusters and supramolecular complexes.



Cheng-Yong Su was born in 1968 in Inner Mongolia, China. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Lanzhou University in 1996 under the supervision of Min-Yu Tan in the field of rare earth chemistry. He joined Wolfgang Kaim’s group at Stuttgart University as an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow in 2001, and moved to the University of South Carolina in 2002 working with Hans-Conrad zur Loye as a postdoctoral fellow. He became an associate professor in 1998 and was promoted to professor in 2004. He is the author or coauthor of over 100 publications and has research interests in crystal engineering, coordination polymers, coordination molecular architectures, and supramolecular chemistry.
