Abstract
Extraction of the leaves of Rauwolfia sumatrana Jack ( Apocynaceae ) has yielded the new akuammicine-type alkaloid methyl 12-hydroxyakuammilan-17-oate (2) the structure of which followed from its spectral properties. v
